Heart on My Sleeve

Okay, here it is. The big heart-on-my-sleeve moment. A good cry is coming on—I feel it. And for good reason. We got this really great news today followed by a big fat bummer.

The good news: The petition to the higher courts that the orphanages finally decided to follow through on had positive results. The higher courts put pressure on the inactive judge who has responded by setting court dates for all of the cases. We were told that the dates are from Nov. 20 to Dec. 10. and that we would get a follow-up email with our date.

The bad news: Our follow-up email said that we have no court date because we are still in the “scrutinizing” stage. What!!!?!??? This is news to us. Now they are saying that if we are lucky her case will get through this mystery stage and get a court date but most likely not until the end of December. So that means traveling at the earliest at the end of January. I’m in a bad mood.

The consolation: They are sending new pictures of the babies and new information about their heights and weights. So for the first time since July, we’ll see how she’s grown. Check back soon for a new picture. That’s what you call bittersweet, I think.

I’m beside myself but after this venting I will try to cheer up and be positive. The only way to be. Thanks for listening.
